About
a decade ago, an eccentric English scientist named
James Lovelock came up with the idea that the
world was one big living organism. He called it
the Gaia hypothesis, which gave rise to the New
Age. Most scientists have not bought into the
idea, at least not all of the concept, but it has
become much more main stream today.
